Update

After focusing on blog updates on Ko-fi for a while, here I am updating this site again.

It’s been a difficult Q1. Returning to work after being away due to illness for ~2 months made it so. I feel it’s coming back to normal, yet the struggle isn’t over. Well, there’s always a struggle and that is a good thing, isn’t it?

The Madriguera project has been minimized (for lack of a better word) to a Writing Workshop. It still needs to find a new structure, but I do have a plan for several ideas and an overall approach that can assist writers out there. This required me to do some research and learning, an ongoing and continuous process, which also takes time. It also prompted me to re-think how to create value and what may work for me as a creator moving forward.

Creating value comes down to problem-solving. Thinking, analysing, crunching my own problems as a “writer” (for example) and how to solve them is what I’ve been focused on the last couple of weeks. It’s been a frustrating experience, yet probably needed. On one hand, it opened my mind to all the different things I can do and create. On the other, I realized coming up with creative solutions is not easy and takes a lot of effort.

Over the past 2 years, I’ve done a bit of everything (mostly as a hobby). Writing, streaming, video/audio editing, programming. The only thing that I managed to do somewhat consistently is writing. It is the most fundamental skill that ties everything and therefore something I’ve been drawn to keep refining and learning. However, something made me wonder: What are we supposed to learn? Especially now, that AI is here to stay.

It’s not new that AI is driving progress in all fronts and it’s been no different with writing. I no longer question whether there is a role for a human writer (I know there is) or if there is a competition between human and AI (I know there isn’t). However, the pace at which things are developing can’t be ignored, and it seems this is just the beginning. Creators will need to adjust and enhance themselves with AI, find new ways to create while remaining morally correct (or not, depending on the person).

Look at this, it started as a general update and now a grim overview of what is coming for humanity. Q2 is going to be fun!
