Bohemian Spam

In the order of irrelevant rants and thoughts, I got really fed up with the apparent alignment of platforms to spam me with the Bohemian Rhapsody movie. The spam on itself it’s already annoying, but in this case aggravated by the fact it is THIS movie - which I decided to never ever watch when it released.

I have a personal problem with remakes and these type of movies that are a sort of acted documentary. They are lazy attempts to earn money and fame with someone else’s ideas, work, or life. It doesn’t matter if it’s well done, if whoever actor in it won an Oscar, if it’s an honest tribute, etc.. It doesn’t matter. In my opinion, there are particular events, people, works of art, that are especial, unique, and should remain untouched. Freddie Mercury and Queen were one of the greatest artists of their time. They should be revered and cherished for that surely, but no recreation of their story will do justice to their greatness.

On top of that, it seems the movie “loss” money despite earning 900mil USD in box office, and members of the band or their families got nothing for it either. It’s unbelievable, but the reality of what Hollywood and the movie business is, and has been for some time already. And so it happens, that something that should have been inspiring ends up being just spam.
